Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal

Differential electronic module (DEM) supplied with voltage via terminal #C1:1.
With the ignition on the control module is supplied with power and therefore active.

Checking the power supply
Check the fuse for the differential electronic module (DEM) in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment.
If the fuse is blown, fault trace the circuit between control module terminal #C1:1 and the fuse. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
If the fuse is intact, check the cable between terminal #C1:1 and the fuse. Check for an open-circuit.

Ground terminal differential electronic module (DEM)
Check the cable between control module terminal #C1:2 respectively #C1:4 and ground terminal. Check for contact resistance. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Checking the ground terminal
Check the ground terminal connection. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Remedy as necessary.
