Transmission, preparations before installing

Check
Checking the torque converter
Ensure that the torque converter is as far into the transmission as possible.
Check that the distance between the cover and the mounting lugs is approximately 13 mm. Use a ruler.
Apply a small amount of grease to the torque converter lugs.
Flushing the oil cooler
Position the lower hose/pipe from the oil cooler in a drip pan.
Flush the oil cooler with oil via the upper hose. Use an oil syringe or similar. Refer to: Lubricant transmission [1][2]Automatic Transmission/Transaxle.
Checking the carrier plate
Check that the carrier plate is not damaged or cracked.
Replace the flexplate. Refer to: Carrier plate, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD Service and Repair.
Check that the mating surfaces of the engine are clean. Check that the guide sleeves, one on the transmission and one on the engine, are in place and free of faults.
