Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)

Note! This accessory requires software unique to the car.

Note! Carry out the installation on all four wheels.

Note! When installing a tire pressure sensor on an entire wheel, the tire must first be removed from the rim and then installed as follows.

- Clean the inside and outside of the rim by the hole for the tire valve. Also clean the inside edge of the hole.

- Install the valve in the valve hole without changing the angle between the valve and the sensor body. (Keep the setting that the unit is supplied with).
The laser marking should be able to be seen by the installer.

- When the valve has been inserted into the valve hole fully, ensure that the sensor body lies against the rim of the wheel, and then manually screw the valve's attachment nut a few turns using the other hand.

- At the same time as holding the sensor body in place against the rim of the wheel by pressing the rear end of the valve with the fingers of one hand, press the valve's attachment nut carefully against the center of the wheel with the other. This is to obtain the correct angle between the valve and sensor body at the same time as the sensor body lies against the wheel rim.

Note! It is important the sensor body maintains contact with the rim of the wheel.

- At the same time as holding the sensor body and valve in place with one hand, tighten the valve's attachment nut with the other. Ensure that the sleeve aligns properly on the attachment nut. Tighten the attachment nut to 8 Nm (6 lbf.ft.).

Caution! When installing the tire onto the wheel:Ensure that the sensor is properly attached in the wheel before installing the tire.Lubricate the tire edges using tire mounting paste to facilitate installation. There must not be any tire mounting paste or foreign particles covering the air filling hole (1), or the hole (2) for reading off the air pressure on the sensor.Do not exert any pressure on the sensor when installing the tire.Ensure that the tire does not get caught between the wheel and the sensor when installing.Do not use installation tools between the sensor and the edge of the tire. The tire must be installed in such a way that the tire pressure sensor moves away from the tire installation tool.

Installing tires on wheels

- Secure the tire in the tire machine and lubricate the tire edges using tire mounting paste.

- Install the tire on the wheel so that the distance between the valve and the point where the tire touches the wheel is approximately 200 mm.

- Position the tire iron and ensure that a distance of 200mm between the valve and the point of contact between the tire and the wheel is maintained. The curved arrow indicates the rotation of the wheel.

- Turn the wheel to position the first side of the tire. The standard iron can pass over the sensor without damaging it.

- Position other side of the tire so that the distance between the valve and the point where the tire touches the wheel is approximately 200 mm. The curved arrow indicates the rotation of the wheel.

- Turn the wheel to position the other side of the tire. The standard iron can pass the sensor without damaging it.

- Fill the tire with air and balance it after installing.

After installing the entire wheel on the car
- Tighten the wheel nuts. Tighten to 140 Nm (103 lbf ft).
- Programme the software in accordance with the service information in VIDA.
