Speed-Dependent Power Steering (Option)

Speed-dependent power steering (option)

Speed-dependent power steering (option)
The unit for speed-dependent power steering is located under the instrument panel over the glove box. The unit receives a control signal from Central electronic module (CEM), which informs how much current that the unit for speed-dependent power steering should deliver to valve speed-dependent power steering on the steering gear.
The unit for speed-dependent power steering works like a pure current amplifier. All logic and control is located in Central electronic module (CEM). The unit for speed-dependent power steering and valve speed-dependent power steering on the steering gear are supplied with voltage in ignition position II via a relay in the relay and fuse box engine compartment.
The speed-dependent power steering's assistance varies depending on the car's speed. There are three different level settings via the menu in Infotainment control module (ICM). These three levels represent different level curves that Central electronic module (CEM) uses to calculate the control signal to the unit for speed-dependent power steering.
