Preparatory work (for all methods)
Important information
Warning! Read through the background and safety regulations for this method. See Discarding pyrotechnic components Discarding Pyrotechnic Components.
Preparing the mounting fixture
Fill the plastic container in the fixture completely with water to maximize stability.
Position the fixture with the mounting grooves up.
Install suitable mounting brackets in suitable grooves on the fixture without tightening.
Select a groove in the fixture so that upon installation the airbag is centered as much as possible in the fixture. This is to avoid the risk of overturning.

Preparatory work
Installation of driver's side airbag (SRS) in mounting fixture
Warning! Use personal protection equipment. See Discarding pyrotechnic components Discarding Pyrotechnic Components.
Position the airbag so that it is filled upward when discharged. See illustration.
Screw the airbag into its normal screw mounting on the mounting brackets. Tighten the screws.
For airbags installed with snap catches, the studs that snap the airbag in place must be removed.
Note! Use the mounting bracket as illustrated. The mounting bracket groove marked "A" should be used together with a locking pin.
Destruction of single stage driver's side airbag (SRS)
Installation of adapter cable to driver's side airbag (SRS)
Remove the key from the discharge box and store so that it is inaccessible for unauthorized use.
Select the correct adapter cable for the airbag.
Connect the adapter cable to the airbag. Check that it is properly connected.
Warning! Remove all loose objects on, or directly connected to, the airbag.
Connecting cables to the driver's side airbag (SRS)
Lay out the connection cable so that the user is 9 m from the airbag.
Connect the adapter cable to the connection cable and fully extend the leads.
Connect the cable to the discharge box.
Connect the discharge box to a fully charged 12 V battery.
Destruction of single stage driver's side airbag (SRS)
