Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal

Power supply, Integrated Audio Module (IAM)
The Integrated Audio Module (IAM) is supplied with voltage via a voltage input on the control module.
For Performance:
- Power input #C2:1 is +30 supplied from the battery via a fuse in the engine compartment's relay and fuse box and a fuse in the Central electronic module (CEM).
For High Performance and Premium Sound:
- Power input #C2:1 is +30 supplied from the battery via a fuse in the engine compartment's relay and fuse box, and a fuse in the rear relay and fuse box.

Checking the power supply
Check the power supply cable from the battery to Integrated Audio Module (IAM) terminal #C2:1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Also check the fuses. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage.

Ground terminal, Integrated Audio Module (IAM)
Integrated Audio Module (IAM) has a ground input. The ground input from the control module is connected via a ground lead to the ground terminal in the car body. See the relevant wiring diagram for further information about the ground terminal.
- Ground input #C2:8 is power ground and is connected to the ground connection in the body.

Checking the ground terminal
Check the ground cable between the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) terminal #C2:8 and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the ground connection for the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) and the ground terminal must not be greater than 0.5 V.
Remedy as necessary.
