Description of parameters

Parameters, status

General
Some values differ from those indicated in the signal description Signal specification, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD, B5254T5, TF-80SC Signal Specification, Transmission Control Module (TCM). This is because the read values are calculated and filtered by the Transmission Control Module (TCM). In certain cases, the engine must be running in order to obtain the relevant values.

Kickdown, status
The value indicates the status of the kickdown function. If kickdown function's limit value in the accelerator pedal (approx. 87%) is passed, kickdown is activated. Upon quick acceleration (accelerator pedal depressed to approx. 87%), the Transmission Control Module (TCM) transmits a signal for kickdown.
Not active = Kickdown not activated
Active = Kickdown activated

Brake pedal position (via CAN)
The value indicates status of the brake pedal. The Engine Control Module (ECM) transmits a signal on the CAN network to indicate the status of the brake pedal: activated or not activated. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses the signal for internal shift functions and for transmission diagnostics.

The value indicates engine speed. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) obtains the value from the Engine Control Module (ECM) via CAN. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) compares the signal with its own engine speed sensor signal.
Measurement range: 0 - 8,191a rpm
Idle rpm: 850a rpm

Engine torque
The value indicates current engine torque. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) obtains the value from the Engine Control Module (ECM) via CAN.
Measurement range: -512 - +511 Nm.

Accelerator pedal position (via CAN)
The value indicates the accelerator pedal position. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) obtains the value from the Engine Control Module (ECM) via CAN. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses the signal to regulate system pressure in the transmission.
Measurement range: 0-100%.
>87% = kickdown.

Engine coolant temperature (ECT)
The value indicates engine temperature. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) obtains the value from the Engine Control Module (ECM) via CAN. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses the signal to regulate lock-up.
Measurement range: 60 - +195 °C.

Oil temperature, transmission
The value indicates transmission fluid temperature. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) calculates the temperature from the oil temperature sensor signal.
Measurement range: -100 - +200 °C.

Vehicle speed
The value indicates vehicle speed. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) receives a signal from the transmission speed sensor, which is actuated by toothed pulse gear and uses the signal to calculate vehicle speed. The speed sensor is a so-called active sensor. The signal oscillates between a peak and a valley value. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) calculates speed, which is in direct proportion to the frequency.
Measurement range: 0 - 655 km/h.

Speed signal from Brake Control Module (BCM)
The value indicates output speed. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) obtains the value from the Brake Control Module (BCM) via CAN. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) compares the signal with the signal from the transmission speed sensor.
Measurement range: 0 - 320 km/h.

Input speed
The value displays the input speed (rpm). With the engine at idle speed and the gear selector lever in P/N position the speed (rpm) can be generated. If the gear selector lever is in another position a gear is engaged and the transmission input shaft engages with the output shaft. The speed (rpm) is displayed when the vehicle is driven. Depending on the slippage in the torque converter the transmission speed (rpm) and the engine speed (rpm) will differ when lock-up is not engaged. With lock-up engaged the transmission speed (rpm) must be the same as the engine speed (rpm).
Measurement range: 0 - 10000 rpm.

Output speed
the value displays the output speed (rpm). The transmission control module (TCM) receives a signal from the transmission speed sensor which is affected by a toothed wheel on the output shaft. The value can be compared with the calculated value from the brake control module (BCM).
Measurement range: 0 - 10 000 rpm.

Output speed from Brake Control Module (BCM)
The value indicates output speed. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) converts the speed signal from the Brake Control Module (BCM) to rpm. This value can be compared with the rpm from the transmission speed sensor.
Measurement range: 0 - 10 000 rpm.

Linear pressure solenoid SLC1, SLC2, SLC3, SLB1 current
The value indicates the current passing through the solenoid circuit. Low current gives a higher control pressure which results in a higher system pressure.
Measurement range: 0 - 1000 mA.

The value indicates requested current strength from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to the solenoid. The value can be used for comparison with the read value in the circuit.
Measurement range: 0 - 1000 mA.

Lock-up solenoid SLU, current

Measurement range: 0 - 1000 mA.

Linear pressure solenoid SLT, current
The value indicates the current passing through the solenoid circuit. Low current gives a higher control pressure which results in a higher system pressure. Solenoid control is directly dependent on the accelerator pedal signal. The higher the signal from the accelerator pedal sensor, the lower the current through the solenoid and therefore the higher the system pressure.
Measurement range: 0 - 1000 mA.
Normal value with accelerator pedal released: approx. 1000 mA.
