Checking interior lighting

This troubleshooting only applies to vehicles that display problems with the interior lighting.
Note! If there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in the central electronic module (CEM) then these should be prioritized.
The central electronic module (CEM) supplies voltage to the interior lighting.
Parts of the interior lighting are not provided with full diagnostics for short circuits and open circuits.
If the vehicle exhibits problems with interior lighting, then troubleshoot as follows:
Check the cables and connections between the central electronic module (CEM) and the interior lighting in question with regard to:
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals.
- Open-circuit.
- Short-circuit to ground.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.
