Vehicle Interior Odor Treatment

Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.





Remove the filter Refer to: Pollen filter climate control system, L.H.D Service and Repair
Do not reinstall the new pollen filter yet.
Vacuum the filter housing.
Reinstall the filter housing cover.

Start the engine and allow to idle.




MCC control:
- Turn the fan speed selector (1) to the lowest speed/first position
- Move the air distribution selector (2) to "Ventilation" position.
- Set the recirculation button (3) to "On"
- Set the heater selector (4) to 22°C (72°F)
- Set the air conditioning (A/C) button (5) to "On".





ECC control:
- Turn the fan speed selector (2) to the lowest speed/first position
- Move the air distribution selector (4) to "Ventilation" position.
- Set the recirculation button (12) to "On". Cars with air quality sensor (AQS) to "man"
- Set the heater selector (8 and 13) to 22°C (72°F)
- Set the air conditioning (A/C) button (9) to "On".





Explanations on cleaner's display
- Start and stop button (1)
- Cleaning in progress, blue lamp (2)
- Cleaning complete, green lamp (3)
- Low level of cleaning fluid, yellow lamp (4)
- High level of cleaning fluid, yellow lamp (5)
- High temperature, red lamp (6)






Note! Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when using the equipment.

Shake the bottle of cleaning agent.

Use: Cleaning agent, 1161836

Use: Cleaning agent (USA/CAN), 1161837

Empty the entire contents of the bottle into 981 4105 Aircomatic II unit 981 4105 Aircomatic II Unit
Place 981 4105 Aircomatic II unit 981 4105 Aircomatic II Unit on the passenger floor (left-hand drive) or the driver's floor (right-hand drive), place the pipe in the forward direction.
Place some paper under and in front of the cleaner or allow stand it on a rubber mat.
Rout the wiring for the cleaner via the door's weatherstrip to an electrical socket.





Start the cleaner (1), blue lamp illuminates (2).
Close the door carefully.
Ensure that all other doors are closed during treatment.
Allow it to run until the green lamp illuminates (3) (after approx. 15-20 minutes) and the treatment is complete.
Remove:
- The cable from the electrical socket
- The cable from the cleaner
- The cleaner from the car
It is normal that a small amount of fluid remains in the bottom of the cleaner after treatment, remove the pipe and discard the remaining fluid.

Open all doors and luggage compartment lid/liftgate and vent the compartment for a few minutes.
An odor is present for a few days after cleaning, which is usual.
