Safety Information Air Conditioning System
Safety information air conditioning system
Warning! Only trained technicians may work with the air conditioning (A/C) system.
Warning! Air conditioning (A/C) components can be extremely hot or cold.
Warning! Always wear protective goggles and gloves made of Fluoroelastomers when handling refrigerants. Leather or textile gloves are not suitable.
Warning! Check that the air conditioning (A/C) system is at room temperature before starting any repair work.
Warning! If liquid refrigerant comes into contact with skin, it causes severe frostbite.
Warning! Immediately rinse the area with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Warning! If refrigerant comes into contact with your eyes, immediately rinse the eyes with copious amounts of water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Warning! If the refrigerant comes into contact with open flames or hot surfaces, it gives off poisonous gases (fluorine and phosgene).
Warning! These poisonous gases are easily detected by their pungent odor, even in very small concentrations.
Warning! The refrigerant is flammable and explosive.
Warning! Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding work with air conditioning (A/C) systems.
Warning! Make sure that refrigerant bottles are not exposed to temperatures greater than 45 °C.
Warning! Make sure that the refrigerant bottles are properly closed.
Warning! The poisonous gases generated when the refrigerant is heated are hazardous to your health.
Warning! The gases have a pungent odor and can cause lung damage.
Warning! The symptoms can continue for a long time after exposure to the gases.
Warning! The gases can cause lung damage, even if the amount of gas in the air is too small to be detected by its odor.
Warning! Refrigerant in gas form has a higher density than air.
Warning! Risk of asphyxiation if working near the floor or in a lubrication pit.
Warning! Make sure there is proper ventilation when handling refrigerant.
Warning! Never release refrigerant into the air.
Warning! Only use special tools, equipment and lubricant that has been approved for the type of refrigerant used.
Warning! The pressurized container in the service unit must never be overfilled.
Warning! The refrigerant must have sufficient space to be able to expand if the temperature rises.
Warning! Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for correct use of the service unit.
Caution! Do not mix oils for different refrigerants.
Caution! Never mix different types of refrigerants or equipment intended for such.
Caution! Refrigerants cause some plastics to break down. Only use seals suitable for the refrigerant in question.
Caution! If the air conditioning (A/C) compressor is damaged, the fixed opening pipe may become blocked by metal particles. Any type of blockage in the refrigerant circuit will damage the air conditioning (A/C) compressor beyond repair.
Caution! If the air conditioning system (A/C) is open for more than 2 hours, a new dryer filter must be installed and evacuation time must be increased by at least 2 hours.
Note! New air conditioning (A/C) compressors come pre-filled.
Note! The refrigerant oil in the new air conditioning (A/C) compressors contains teflon, which can appear as white particles. These will not damage the system.
