Description of parameters

Parameters, status

Brake light switch
The value indicates the status of the brake light switch. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the engine control module (ECM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Active (pressed in) = Stop (brake) lamp switch activated.
Not activated = Stop (brake) lamp switch not activated.

ABS/EBD/TC/SC/AYC control function
The values indicate the status of each function.
The status may vary depending on detected faults, driving, etc.
AYC is indicated as switched off until the steering wheel has been initiated and the car has been driven at above 10 km/h.
Switched off = Function blocked.
Permitted = Function accessible.

Switch indication (DSTC)
The value indicates the status of the DSTC switch. Request status of the brake control module (BCM) that transmitted on the CAN network.
On = DSTC indication activated.
Off = DSTC indication not activated.

Parameters, value

Power supply
The value indicates the power supply for the brake control module (BCM).
Measurement range: 0 - 18 V

MECU power supply
The value indicates the battery voltage at the central electronic module (CEM). The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: 0 - 32 V.

Passenger compartment temperature
The value indicates the passenger compartment temperature. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: -60 to +195 °C.

Outside temperature
The value indicates the outside temperature. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: -128 to +127 °C.

Total mileage
The value indicates the mileage. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the central electronic module (CEM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: 0 km and up.

Pedal position sensor position
Value from the pedal position sensor. The value indicates the position of the pedal position sensor.
Measurement range: 0 - 45 mm.

Wheel speed
Value from the wheel sensors. The brake control module (BCM) calculates the wheel speed using the relevant wheel sensor.
Measurement range: 0.60 - 300 km/h.

Vehicle reference speed
The value indicates the speed of the car in km/h. The value is calculated from the values from all the wheel sensors.
Measurement range: 0.60 - 300 km/h.

The brake disc temperature
The value indicates the temperature of the brake discs. The brake control module (BCM) calculates the brake disc temperature based on the length of time the traction control system has been operating or the ABS has been activated.
Measurement range: 0 - 920 °C

Steering wheel angle sensor, present value
The value indicates the position of the steering wheel. The brake control module (BCM) receives the value from the steering wheel module (SWM) via the Control area network (CAN).
Measurement range: -720 to +720 °/s.
Positive values = Left
Negative values = Right

Yaw angle signal
The value indicates the yaw angle speed, i.e. the speed at which the car turns on flat ground. The signal from the yaw rate sensor, which is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC), transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the rate of yaw (steering direction) of the car in °/s. A positive value indicates steering to the left. A negative value indicates steering to the right.
Measurement range: -80 to +80 °/s

Hint: The value can be influenced by moving the rear or front section rapidly sideways.

Lateral accelerometer, signal
The value indicates the lateral accelerometer signal, i.e. the lateral incline of the car. The signal from the lateral accelerometer, which is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC), transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the lateral acceleration of the car. Turning left produces a body roll to the right, giving a positive value. Turning right produces a body roll to the left, giving a negative value.
Measurement range: -20 to +20 m/s2

Hint: The value can be influenced by changing the sideways incline of the car, for example by raising the right or left-hand side of the car.

Accelerometer, signal
The value indicates the accelerometer signal, i.e. the longitudinal incline of the car. The signal from the accelerometer, which is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC), transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the longitudinal acceleration of the car. A positive value indicates acceleration, i.e. the front of the car is raised. A negative value indicates deceleration, i.e. the front of the car is lowered.
Measurement range: -20 to +20 m/s2

Hint: The value can be affected by changing the longitudinal incline of the car, for example by raising or lower the front or rear end of the car.

Brake pressure
The value indicates the brake pressure in the hydraulic modulator. The internal brake pressure sensor transmits a signal to the brake control module (BCM) containing information about the pressure in the brake system.
Measurement range: 0 - 300 bar.

Vacuum pressure, vacuum chamber
The value indicates vacuum pressure in the vacuum chamber.
Measurement range: -0.95 - 0 bar

Vacuum pressure, work chamber
The value indicates vacuum pressure in the work chamber.
Measurement range: 0 - 0.95 bar

Offset values

Hint: The offset value is an adaptive correction value which indicates the individual offset for the sensor. The brake control module (BCM) uses the value to determine the correct start value when the DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) system is started up. If the normal value has changed during an operating cycle, the value is stored in the EEPROM memory of the brake control module (BCM) after the ignition is switched off. The value is then reloaded to the internal memory when the ignition is switched on.
The offset values can also change shortly after the ignition was switched off.
