DESCRIPTION:
In the new S60, there are three different types of remote locking systems:
1. Non keyless car WITHOUT BLIS: Without KVM and standard remote receiver
2. Keyless car: Normal Keyless system with KVM and keyless receiver
3. Non keyless car WITH BLIS: WITH KVM but WITHOUT keyless system. This car also has a special remote receiver connected to the KVM.
TECHNICAL REPORT
SERVICE:
Due to a late function change in the BLIS system the remote locking system had to be changed in order to be able to build cars with BLIS.
The BLIS system communicates with CEM via LIN bus, and if the car is equipped with BLIS, there is no LIN bus available on CEM to handle the remote receiver. To solve this, the solution was to connect the remote receiver to a KVM module, which then is communicating via CAN to CEM.
This combination, BLIS and standard remote system, will then be "special" combination, as the car has a KVM module, but NO keyless system.
There are three different types of remote receivers one for each type of combination.
1. Non keyless car WITHOUT BLIS: Without KVM and standard remote receiver
This car shall have a standard remote receiver, P/N 31268992. This receiver is connected to CEM VIDA parts catalogue info does not list this P/N
2. Keyless car: Normal Keyless system with KVM and keyless receiver
This car shall have a keyless remote receiver, as described in VIDA. This receiver is connected to KVM
3. Non keyless car WITH BLIS: WITH KVM but WITHOUT keyless system.
This car shall have a special remote receiver, connected to KVM. it is the same receiver that is used in S40/V50/C70/C30 keyless cars, P/N 31268995
VIDA parts catalogue Does list this P/N but it does not state that it is only for use with Non Keyless cars equipped with BLIS. The remote receiver is fitted in the headlining (see VIDA) independent of locking system.
Remote keys:
Keyless cars shall use keyless remote keys
Non keyless cars and non keyless car with BLIS shall use standard keys
