Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal
Power supply, power seat module (PSM)
Power seat module (PSM) is supplied with voltage via a voltage input on the control module.
Left-hand drive vehicles
- Power input #A C1:1 is supplied with voltage via a fuse from the battery. It will not be possible to activate the control module if there is an open-circuit.
Right-hand drive vehicles
- Power input #C1:7 is supplied with voltage via a fuse from the battery. It will not be possible to activate the control module if there is an open-circuit.
Checking the power supply
Check the power supply cable from the battery to the Power seat module (PSM) for open circuit, loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage.
Ground terminal, power seat module (PSM)
Power seat module (PSM) has a ground input. The ground input from the control module is power ground and is connected to the ground terminal in the car body. See the relevant wiring diagram for further information about the ground terminal.
Left-hand drive vehicles
- Ground input 1, #C1:7 is power ground and is connected to the ground connection in the body.
Right-hand drive vehicles
- Ground input 1, #C1:1 is a power ground and is connected to the ground terminal in the body.
Checking the ground terminal
Check the ground cable between Power seat module (PSM) and ground connection for open circuit, loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the ground connection for the Power seat module (PSM) and the ground terminal must not be greater than 0.5 V.
Remedy as necessary.
