Locking/Unlocking

Information and verification, locking/unlocking

Symptom and function description
The following conditions must be met in order for the Central electronic module (CEM) to permit locking and unlocking using the remote key:
- The battery in the remote key must have sufficient voltage. If the battery starts to deteriorate, the transmission strength is reduced.
- The remote key must be within a radius of 20 m from the vehicle's Remote Receiver Module (RRX).
- All doors should be shut and the car should be locked.

Note! How many doors and hoods are to be locked and unlocked, when using the remote key and the exterior flashing indication, can be programmed on the Infotainment control module (ICM).

Note! It has become apparent that in some cases function failure occurs in the system when communications between the Remote Receiver Module (RRX) and the remote key are affected by interference. On account of increased radiation in the surroundings, e.g. from TVs and radio transmitters, mobile phones, electric meters that are readable remotely, etcetera, on rare occasions interference may affect the signal from the remote key.

Hint: For more information, see Design and Function.
