Towbar, wiring, 13-pin























INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.






Towbar, wiring, 13-pin





- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.

Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.

Applies to the S60










- Hold in the catches, pull the side cushion inwards and forwards in the car at the upper edge so that the catches on the other side release. Pull off upwards.














- Carefully pry off the covers and remove the screws.


















- Remove the rubber grommet in the rear crossmember. It will not be reused.





- Take the tow hitch wiring from the kit and insert the connector in the hole in the rear crossmember.





- Adjust the cable length from the contact to the rubber grommet as illustrated.
- Press the rubber grommet into the rear crossmember.
- Install the contact with screws and nuts from the kit.





- Secure the cable harness at the draw bar with two cable ties.





- Route the cable harness along the rear crossmember on the left to the left side of the bracket to the electric hand brake, and connect the connector to the control module for the tow bar.
- Connect the shorter single cable to the ground point as illustrated, and tighten.





- Clamp the cable harness to the existing cable harness using cable ties from the kit.





- Remove the cover on the black fuse holder.





- Undo the catches on both sides of the fuse holder, fold it forwards and place on the floor.





- Squeeze the locking tabs on the fuse holder lock and pull up.

- Carefully pry between the front and rear section of the fuse holder using a weatherstrip tool so that the black front section is moved to the side slightly.
- Install the routed single cable on the rear of fuse terminal F4 in the spare socket.
- Reinstall the catch in the rear section.









- Reinstall the fuse holder.





- Install a 15 A fuse in socket F4.







Checking the 13-pin connector





Note! The trailer module (TRM) must be programmed with software in order to function correctly.

10. Charging +12V, only with the ignition switched on

Only applies to detachable towbar
- Saw off the corner of the panel in the cutout for the detachable towbar.
- Even off the edges.



























Applies to the V60


















- Remove the rubber grommet in the rear crossmember. It will not be reused.





- Take the tow hitch wiring from the kit and insert the connector in the hole in the rear crossmember.





- Adjust the cable length from the contact to the rubber grommet as illustrated.
- Press the rubber grommet into the rear crossmember.
- Install the contact with screws and nuts from the kit.





- Secure the cable harness at the draw bar with two cable ties.










- Route the cable harness along the left-hand side of the recess in the floor part of the way, then up on the floor and along the cable duct and to the TRM unit.
- Connect the connector to the TRM unit.
- Connect the shorter single cable to the ground point as illustrated, and tighten.





- Clamp the cable harness to the existing cable harness using cable ties from the kit.





- Remove the black cover on the fuse holder.





- Undo the two retaining catches at the rear edge and on the side of the fuse holder and lift it up.





- Squeeze the locking tabs on the fuse holder lock and pull up.

- Carefully pry between the front and rear section of the fuse holder using a weatherstrip tool so that the black front section is moved to the side slightly.
- Install the routed single cable on the rear of fuse terminal F4 in the spare socket.
- Reinstall the catch in the rear section.













- Install a 15 A fuse in position F4.
