Checking Sound Signal From the Rear Seat Entertainment DVD Player to the Vehicle's Ordinary Speakers. Rear Seat Entertainment,
Checking the sound signal from the rear seat entertainment DVD player to the vehicle's ordinary speakers.
Fault-tracing information
Sound from the system for rear seat entertainment to the integrated audio module (IAM) goes via the AUX input. If sound from the system for rear seat entertainment cannot be played in the vehicle's loudspeakers, the cause of the problem may be any or some of the following:
- Cable harness from the vehicle's ordinary sound system.
- AUX input
- Damaged leads between the Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) and the AUX-panel.
Note! In order for sound from the system for rear seat entertainment to be played in the vehicle's loudspeaker system, the system for rear seat entertainment must be on and work faultlessly.

Checking the wiring for the Rear Seat Entertainment Module (RSE)
Hint: In order for sound to be heard from the vehicle's loudspeakers, the function must be activated using the remote control for the system for rear seat entertainment (button for loudspeakers), the vehicle's audio system must be set to AUX and no other source must be connected to the AUX input.
Check the cables from the Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) to the Integrated Audio Module (IAM). Check for a short-circuit to ground, for a short-circuit to supply and for an open circuit. Regards the cables from rear seat entertainment module (RSE), terminals #D3, #D16 and #D17, to the AUX-input.
Check the connection between the AUX input and the Integrated Audio Module (IAM). Check for a short-circuit to ground, for a short-circuit to supply and for an open circuit. Regards the cables from the AUX input to integrated audio module (IAM) terminals #C2:10, #C2:11 and #C2:12.
Also check the breaker function at the AUX input by connecting a plug into the AUX input. The connection between the Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) and the integrated audio module (AIM) should then be broken.
Hint:
- AUX-input terminal #1 is internally connected with terminal #7 in the AUX input.
- AUX-input terminal #2 is internally connected with terminal #6 in the AUX input. The circuit is broken if a 3.5 mm connector is connected.
- AUX-input terminal #3 is internally connected with terminal #5 in the AUX input. The circuit is broken if a 3.5 mm connector is connected.
Remedy as necessary.
