Checking USB port for software downloading

Self-test

Note! This symptom troubleshooting only applies to the, for customer, hidden USB-port for software download on Infotainment control module (ICM).

Infotainment control module (ICM) diagnostic test for USB-port for software download can only detect faults when something is connected to it. Therefore the diagnostic test is only run when a self-test of the USB-port has been started. A fault code is set if the self-test detects a fault. To start self-test and check fault codes belonging to the USB-port for software download, proceed as follows:
- Insert the USB test device (Software Download Media Device) into the USB port for software download.
- Click on the VCT2000 symbol to start self-test of the control module.
- Go to the tab DIAGNOSTICS/DETAILS and click on Update to perform a new fault code read-out.
- Go to the tab DIAGNOSTICS/TROUBLESHOOT and check if fault codes belonging to the USB-port for software download have been set.
- Fault-trace according to diagnostic trouble code (DTC) instructions.
