Condition
Engine control module (ECM) checks ignition at engine shut-off.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Start/Stop-button is pressed in.
- The vehicle is stationary.
- The ignition is not activated within 1 second.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Start/Stop-button is pressed in.
- The vehicle is stationary.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- Engine control module (ECM) closes off fuel supply to shut off the engine.

Possible source
- Fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM).
- Cable from start button shorted to ground/voltage.
- Open circuit on cable from start button.
- Damaged start button.
