Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-U210800
Condition
The control modules in the vehicle send and receive information continuously on the vehicle's controller area network (CAN).
- If the driver depresses the brake pedal during control of the adaptive cruise control function, the function should disengage. The Brake control module (BCM) checks that the Engine control module (ECM) registered this by monitoring the status of a signal.
- The adaptive cruise control function has requested the Brake control module (BCM) perform a comfortable braking if the vehicle speed is greater than 4 km/h.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The adaptive cruise control function has not been disengaged despite the driver depressing the brake pedal for 1500 ms.
- The adaptive cruise control function has requested comfortable braking despite the speed being greater than 4 km/h for at least 1 second.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition on.
- Vehicle speed exceeds 4 km/h
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- None.
Possible source
- Locate the cause of the fault in the engine control module (ECM).
- Fault-trace the Forward Sensing Module (FSM).
Fault symptom[s]
- Adaptive cruise control; No Functionality
