Condition
At initiation of passive start attempt (start button is pressed in and clutch pedal (MAN) or brake pedal (AUT) is pressed down) the Central electronic module (CEM) sends an encrypted request to Keyless vehicle module (KVM). This request is given a positive answer if Keyless vehicle module (KVM) finds a valid passive remote key in the passenger compartment.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The answer from Keyless vehicle module (KVM) is missing.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Start attempts
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals.
- Internal fault in the remote control.
- Internal error in Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
- Open-circuit in the control area network (CAN).
