Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The control modules in the vehicle send and receive information continuously on the vehicle's controller area network (CAN).
The configuration IDs are compared between the different control modules in the network using a database in the Central electronic module (CEM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The network's configuration ID is incorrect.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
- The test is carried out every other operating cycle. The Suspension module (SUM) defines an operating cycle as ignition on and ignition off.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Note! When diagnostic trouble codes in the suspension module (SUM) are erased, they do not disappear until the next operating cycle (ignition off - ignition on).
Substitute value
- Deactivated Four-C function.
Possible source
- Comparison faults in the signal database between the Suspension module (SUM) and the Central electronic module (CEM).
- Installed control module has incorrect configuration ID.
Fault symptom[s]
- Message in information display
- Four-C function not working
