Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The Driver/Passenger door module (DDM/PDM) checks its own system compares its own configuration-ID with the ID of the signal configuration that Central electronic module (CEM) sends out as messages on the CAN network. This message is sent at regular intervals.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The configuration IDs differ, alternatively missing configuration ID from Central electronic module (CEM) for longer than 7 seconds.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Control module supplied with power.
Note! When the diagnostic trouble code is generated, the control module answers to the diagnostic commands, however, the normal CAN-communication does not work ("Expulsion-mode").
Substitute value
- The control module stops transmitting messages on the CAN network. However, the control module still responds to the diagnostic command.
- The control module's functions stop working.
Possible source
- Incorrect configuration ID (the control module is not intended for this vehicle, for example it is a used control module with different software/hardware).
- Intermittent open-circuit in one or both CAN cables in part of the network. In the event of an open-circuit in both the control area network (CAN) cables, it is not possible to communicate with the control module. Therefore it will only be possible to read off the fault if it is intermittent.
Fault symptom[s]
- Door mirrors/Electrical adjustment does not work
- Electrical operated window/No/reduced/incorrect function
- Locking/unlocking/Central locking does not work
- Doors/Child lock/Does not work
- Switch indication/Does not work
- Door mirrors/Folding does not work
