Condition

Note! This fault code may be set incorrectly in engine control module (ECM) when activating ignition position with VIDA.If that is the case, ignore this DTC.

Engine control module (ECM) as well as central electronic module (CEM) contain a unique code for every vehicle for electronic immobilizer. In addition to this, each key for the vehicle is electronically coded to only fit in the intended vehicle. At start, internal checks are performed that the key is correct for the vehicle and that the immobilizer codes in the engine control module (ECM) and central electronic module (CEM) match.
If engine control module (ECM) registers that communication between engine control module (ECM) and central electronic module (CEM) (via CAN) is missing, the diagnostic trouble code is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

Possible source
- Open circuit on one of the CAN-cables.
- Short-circuit between CAN-cables.
- Damaged engine control module (ECM).
