Fault-Tracing Information

Fault-tracing

Checking communication
Signals from the Occupant weight sensor (OWS) are used by the Supplemental restraint system module (SRS). If the signals are missing, the DTC is stored. Fault-trace terminals, connectors and cables for play, contact resistance and oxidation.
All control modules do not communicate with each other on sensor-CAN. There are control modules on sensor-CAN that do not send out any signals on the network, e.g. Brake control module (BCM) and therefore other control modules do not store DTCs for "signal missing" for those control modules. There are also control modules on sensor-CAN that do not receive any signals on the network, e.g. Closing velocity module (CVM) and therefore no DTCs for "signal missing" are stored in these control modules.

Fault-tracing information
The list below shows which DTCs can be stored on the local network sensor CAN (reservation for future changes/updates). The table indicates where on the local network sensor CAN there may be a fault.
