U014000 (Engine Control Module - ECM)

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-U014000

Condition
The control modules transmit and receive information via a standardized serial communication method - CAN (Control Area Network).
The diagnostic trouble code is stored if the control module detects:
- A communication error between the Central electronic module (CEM) and the Engine control module (ECM).

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- Nothing.

Possible source
- Open circuit on one of the CAN-cables.
- Short-circuit between the control area network (CAN) wiring.
- Internal malfunction in another control module in the same part of the CAN-network.
