Checking the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
Any other diagnostic trouble codes for the transmission control module (TCM) must be remedied first because one of them may have caused diagnostic trouble code TCM-P089600 to be stored.
Are other diagnostic trouble codes stored?
Yes - DONE
No - Checking solenoids
-------------------------------------------------
Checking solenoids
- Ignition on.
- Activate the solenoids by clicking on the symbol for VCT2000.
When the hydraulics in the gearbox are checked through the collaboration of the linear solenoids, all should be checked through activation. The current should oscillate between 100 and 950 mA.
The test also includes shift solenoids S1 and S2, which also affect the gearbox hydraulics.
If faults occur on any of the solenoids, the control system must be replaced.

Yes - Checking the oil quality and the oil level in the transmission
No - Resetting the adaptation and oil quality counter
-------------------------------------------------
Replacing the transmission
If no faults are found on the solenoids or in the oil, the gearbox oil must be changed.

Verification
Note! When the transmission's control module has been removed and reinstalled, it is important that the gear position sensor is calibrated. Select Pause and create a bookmark. Then select Vehicle communication.
Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Test drive the vehicle following: Test drive schedule, description, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD, B5254T5, TF-80SC Test Drive Schedule, Description
Check that the transmission does not display any obvious function faults.
Note! When test driving, the oil temperature must be above 20 °C.

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?

Resetting the adaptation and oil quality counter
Resetting adaptation
Resetting the adaptation and the counter for "Transmission oil, replace"
Hint: The transmission has torque-regulated, adaptive pressure regulation. The pressure regulator enables the transmission to regulate pressure during each shift to prevent hard shifting. Each shift is assessed by the transmission control module (TCM) and is stored in the internal memory. This makes it possible to compensate for transmission and clutch wear. It is important that the adaptation in the memory is reset so that the transmission works normally after the repair. Because the fluid was changed during the repair, the counter for transmission fluid change must also be reset. If the counter is not reset during draining/replacement, a diagnostic trouble code may be generated under the wrong conditions.
Note! This applies only if the transmission or one of the components in the transmission have been replaced.
- Ignition on.
Click on the VCT2000 symbol to reset the adaptation and counter.

Checking the oil quality and the oil level in the transmission
Note! Transmission fluid quality and level are extremely important for the function of the transmission. Therefore it is imperative that these are correct. In addition the oil level is dependent on oil temperature.
- Ignition on.
- Read off the oil temperature.
Check the transmission oil level. If the oil level is low, check the transmission for leakage, then top up with oil.
Check the quality of the oil.
Replace the transmission fluid if the fluid smells burnt.
