Fault-Tracing Information






Fault-tracing

Checking the status




- Ignition on.
- Read out the status of the P position sensor.
Move the gear selector to gear position D. Then move the gear selector lever back to the P position. Status should indicate whether the gear selector is in the P position.

Note! Wait 15 seconds at every gear selector position so that any faults can be detected.

If the status changes, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but is not active at the moment, i.e. an intermittent fault.

- Ignition off.
- Release the gear selector.
Check that the control arm between the shiftlock solenoid and the gear selector module (GSM) is correct installed.
If no fault can be found, replace the gear selector module (GSM).

Other information
- Expose the gear shift assembly as follows: Solenoid gear selector assembly, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD, B5254T5, TF-80SC Solenoid Gear Selector Assembly
- Top panel gear selector assembly, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD, B5254T5, TF-80SC Top Panel Gear Selector Assembly

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.




- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
- Read out the status of the P position sensor.
Move the gear selector to gear position D. Then move the gear selector lever back to the P position. Status should indicate whether the gear selector is in the P position.

Note! Wait 15 seconds at every gear selector position so that any faults can be detected.
