- Ignition off

Hint: This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be stored if a battery charger with too high charge voltage has been connected.

Check the generator (GEN) brushes (carbon). Check that the brushes can move in the regulator housing. The brushes are lightly sprung. Also check the slip rings.
If the brushes and slip rings appear to be OK, try a new alternator control module (ACM) (charge regulator).

Hint: Another test to check the alternator's function is to perform Quicktest of alternator function. Found in VIDA vehicle communication under Central electronic module (CEM).

Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine.
- Read off the battery voltage.
- Load the battery by switching on several power consumers with a high power consumption, for example, the blower, main beam, etc.
Read off the battery voltage by clicking on the symbol for VCT2000.
Check that the battery voltage is correct, battery voltage shall be approx. 13-14 V. Test at different engine speeds.
