Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information DEM-P063468

Condition

Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status is an event controlled diagnostic trouble code (DTC). An event controlled diagnostic trouble code (DTC) does not mean that there is a fault in the control module when it is active, but is designed as information.

The Differential Electronic Module (DEM) has a temperature sensor fitted on the control module's circuit board. The sensor provides the Differential Electronic Module (DEM) with information about the temperature in the control module. If the temperature exceeds a preset value all wheel drive is disabled. This is to protect the components from a too high load, which can result in internal mechanical faults.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The temperature is higher than 110 °C.
- Incorrect value lasts longer than 3 seconds.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value

- Four-wheel drive is disengaged during the time the fault exists, and is disengaged a further 30 seconds after the fault has disappeared.

Possible source
- Temperature too high.
