Checking the status




- Engine idling.
Read the diagnostic status and fault status for the diagnostic trouble code by selecting the diagnostic trouble code in the list.
Check if the malfunction is permanent or intermittent by reading off the diagnostic trouble code's status when the diagnostic status is "Implemented".
If the trouble status is "Malfunction found", this indicates that the malfunction is permanent. If the trouble status is "No malfunction found", this indicates that the malfunction is intermittent and not active right now.

Note! Trouble status cannot go from "Malfunction found" to "No malfunction found" in the same operating cycle.

Replacing the component
The engine control module (ECM) has registered an internal fault.
If the fault is intermittent, it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults may be due to interference at start or may be a different type of fault that occurs on different occasions. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.
Ensure that the software in the Engine control module (ECM) is correct by downloading it again.
If the fault recurs, replace the control module.
In the event of a permanent fault, replace the engine control module (ECM).
Remedy as necessary.
