Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-P050000

Condition
The output speed sensor is located within the transmission. The transmission control module (TCM) uses the signal to calculate the rpm of the transmission output shaft. The signal is used to compare the outgoing rpm with the incoming rpm on the transmission and with vehicle speed. The brake control module (BCM) transmits information on speed via the CAN network.
The control module uses these signals to calculate shifting time points. The rpm and vehicle speed data are also used to adjust system pressure and reduce engine torque when shifting. The result is smooth gear-shifting.
The information is also used to control the lock-up function.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The voltage in the circuit of the transmission output speed sensor is too low.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Normal driving.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) uses the speed signal from the brake control module (BCM).
- If the brake control module (ECM) also sends a signal that the speed signal is incorrect, the auxiliary program Emergency mode 3 will become active.

Hint: Emergency mode in case of malfunction, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD, B5254T5, TF-80SC Emergency Mode In Case of Malfunction

- Neutral control function is blocked.
- Adaptation function is blocked.

Possible source
- Break in circuit for output speed sensor.
- Power supply to output speed sensor short-circuited to ground.
- Transmission output speed sensor not working.
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Warning lights and chimes/Malfunction Indicator Light ("Check engine" light) indication/no indication
