Checking component and connections
- By activating quick-test of EVAP-valve, the valve's status can be decided. The test is based on pressure pulses through the valve and, in this way, the valve's function can be checked.
If malfunction is detected on the EVAP-valve when performing the quick-test, this indicates that the malfunction is permanent.
- Engine idling during the entire test.
Activate quick-test EVAP-valve. The test takes a few seconds.
If the result shows "Malfunction found", function is poor. Check hose/hose connections between EVAP-valve and canister for damage, clogging or squeezing. The valve may need to be cleaned or replaced.
If the result shows "No malfunction found", function is correct. Then check hose/hose connections between EVAP-valve and inlet pipe for damage, clogging or squeezing.
Remedy as necessary.
