Condition




The camshaft is divided into a number of segments (flanks). The camshaft houses a gearwheel with a number of teeth (the teeth are positioned between each segment) that are read by the engine control module (ECM) via the camshaft position sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed by the control module when the engine is running and engine speed exceeds a certain value.

Substitute value
- Engine speed sensor signal.

Possible source
- Intermittent fault in the cable harness or connectors.
- Camshaft sensor fitted incorrectly.
- Damaged mass air flow sensor.
