Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P003900
Condition
The Engine control module (ECM) has built-in functions to check whether the relief valve has jammed in the closed position.
The control module performs a number of internal tests using the turbo control signal (this is done during the time that the control module knows that the valve is open) to evaluate the function of the valve.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The relief valve is closed when it should be open.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Engine running.
- Boost pressure (approx. 30 kPa above atmospheric pressure).
- Activated relief valve.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- None.
Possible source
- Sticking relief valve.
Fault symptom[s]
- Driving/Unusual noise/Unsure when/at all times
Hint: When the accelerator pedal is released.
