Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SAS-C1B0085
Condition
The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN).
A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects:
- The steering wheel angle sensor turns more than ±720° from the central position.
There are four physical stops on the steering column so that the steering wheel, in normal cases, cannot be turned more than approximately ±540° from the central position.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Substitute value
- The control module transmits a message to other nodes on the CAN network that its information is incorrect.
Possible source
- The steering wheel angle sensor is incorrectly adjusted.
- Incorrectly installed steering wheel angle sensor.
- Damaged steering wheel angle sensor.
