Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-C004701
Condition
The vacuum pressure sensor is located in the power brake booster. The pressure sensor is double acting and measures the vacuum pressure between the vacuum chamber and the working chamber in the power brake booster. The signal ratio between the various chambers must correspond with each other. The sensor is supplied with 5 V.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The voltage is higher than 4.9 V for longer than 100 ms.
- The voltage is lower than 0.2 V for longer than 100 ms.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Contact resistance and oxidation.
- Open-circuit in signal cable (+).
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.
- Damaged vacuum pressure sensor.
- Internal fault in the control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- Information lamp is on
