Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The Brake control module (BCM) has twelve valve coils, one for each valve in the hydraulic modulator. Four of the valve coils are for exhaust, four for inlet and four used for the stability and traction control. The control module can register faults on the valve coils for a number of different fault causes.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The signal from one of the valve coils is too low.
- The signal from one of the valve coils is too high.
- The signal from one of the valve coils is missing.
- The control module is subject to interference so that its calculations are incorrect.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
