Checking door handles
Each external side door handle is equipped with two sensors. One sensor for unlocking and one for locking.
All 8 sensors are connected to ground via a common input on Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
When a sensor is affected, the circuit is shorted and grounds each sensors' input on Keyless vehicle module (KVM). For more information about outputs and inputs, see signal description for Keyless vehicle module (KVM).

Checking door handles
If the procedure reports fault of the common ground cable, give priority to troubleshooting this cable.
- Troubleshoot the common ground cable for short-circuiting to voltage or ground.
If all (8) sensors are defective even though the common ground cable is fault-free, then troubleshooting of the common voltage-feed to the sensors should be given priority.
- Check the fuse for the circuit.
- Check the common 30-feed for open circuit.
If the common ground cable is fault-free at the same time as both sensors in a handle are defective, then troubleshooting should be given priority on the relevant handle's voltage feed cable. If no fault was found on the voltage feed cable to relevant door handle's sensors, troubleshooting should be performed on signal lines between the handle's sensors and Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
- Check the part of the 30-feed that leads to relevant door handle for open circuit.
- Check the signal lines between relevant door handle's sensors and Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
If the common ground cable is fault-free at the same time as only one of the handle's sensors is reported as defective, troubleshoot the faulty sensor's signal line between the door handle and Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
- Check the signal line between relevant door handle and Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
Remedy as necessary.

Checking door handles
To decide status of the common ground cable as well as status for sensors in the external door handles, click on the symbol for VCT2000.
Note! The procedure takes approx. 12-15 seconds to run.
When the procedure is finished status is presented for the common ground cable.
The following alternatives are available:
- No fault.
- Short-circuiting to battery.
- Short-circuit to ground.
Status is presented at the same time for sensors (total 8 pcs.) in the external side door handles.
The following alternatives are available:
- No fault.
- No unlock signal.
- No lock signal.
- No lock/unlock signal.
