Condition




The Phone module (PHM) checks the microphone signal from the handset.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The microphone signal has a short-circuit to voltage or an open circuit.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition position 0, I and II.
- Battery voltage between 9 - 16 V.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- Only hands-free operates.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to voltage in the cable for the microphone signal between the handset and the control module.
- Open-circuit in the cable for the microphone signal, between the handset and the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- Cellular phone/Other party cannot hear/Privacy handset
- Cellular phone/Other party cannot hear/Unsure when/at all times
- Text window and warning symbol/Text message
