Condition
Trailer module (TRM) checks the input signal for brake lights on the direct-connected cable from central electronic module (CEM). Trailer module (TRM) also checks the input signal for brake lights on the CAN-net from Central electronic module (CEM). The control module compares both the signals.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The signals do not correspond with each other.
- Incorrect value runs longer than 0.5 seconds.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
Starting the control module's CAN communication.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

- Open-circuit in the cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in the cable.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals.
- Short-circuit in connections.
