Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CEM-B10EA12
Condition
Vehicles with diesel engines are equipped with an electric additional heater (PTC-element) in certain markets. The central electronic module (CEM) governs the power socket for the electrical additional heater via an output.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Signal too high from the output.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- The function (the output) turns off during the driving cycle when fault is detected. The function (the output) switches off permanently after 100 operating cycles where the fault was detected. Erasing trouble codes as well as start of new driving cycle resets the output.
Possible source
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
Fault symptom[s]
- Poor heating in compartment
