Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CEM-B10E511

Condition
The central electronic module (CEM) checks the start signal to the engine control module (ECM). Central electronic module (CEM) also monitors the voltage on the signal cable.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- The function (the output) turns off during the driving cycle when fault is detected. The function (the output) switches off permanently after 100 operating cycles where the fault was detected. Erasing trouble codes as well as start of new driving cycle resets the output.

Possible source
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.

Fault symptom[s]
- Engine fails to start
- Starter motor does not function
