Fault-tracing information
Check whether diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) for communication failure with the remote receiver have been stored in the Keyless vehicle module (KVM). Remedy these diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) first.
Check with the customer if the remote control's function ceases in certain places or if the problem can occur at any place. On account of increased radiation in the surroundings, e.g. from TVs and radio transmitters, mobile phones, electric meters that are readable remotely, etcetera, on rare occasions interference may affect the signal from the remote key. For more information, see Design and Function.

Hint: An identity code from the Keyless vehicle module (KVM), stored in the remote key, has not been stored correctly resulting in this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

Try with several remote keys to exclude that there is a problem with the remote key.
If the fault only occurs with one key, try to erase all the keys and add them again by purchasing the software to add or erase keys in the software manager.

Note! Ensure that all keys, that can be used for the vehicle, are available before the keys are erased, as it is not possible to add individual keys at a later date, all keys must be programmed at the same time.

Check that the latest software is loaded in the Central electronic module (CEM) and in the Keyless vehicle module (KVM) by trying to purchase new software for the control module in question.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
Check that the vehicle can be started without a key.
Check the keyless system and the central locking system by standing outside the car and trying to lock and unlock the doors.
