Wheel hub front, checking

Preparatory work
Remove:
- the wheel
- the mounting screws for the brake caliper holder. Hang the caliper up with a piece of wire
- the brake disc.
Installation
Installing the bracket
Use the M12x40 wing screws and the M12 nuts from the kit 999 5418 Measuring kit 999 5418 Measuring Kit.
Measuring lateral run-out
Install the dial gauge in the bracket.
Put the test gauge point against the hub flange as illustrated.
Rotate the hub gently.
Note the test gauge run-out. Hub maximum lateral run-out: 0.020 mm.
If the maximum lateral run-out exceeds this value, replace the front wheel bearing.

Finishing
Remove the test equipment.
Install:
- the brake disc
- the brake caliper and the caliper holder. Tighten. See: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.
Note! Use new mounting screws.
Install the wheel. See: Wheels Service and Repair.
