Power Steering Delivery Pipe






Power steering delivery pipe

Preparatory work

Remove the splashguard under the engine (if applicable).

Removal

Removing the pipe assembly




Position a drip pan under the power steering pump.

Remove:
- the pressure pipe from the pump
- the return hose from the pump.





Remove:
- the 2 screws
- the bracket.





Remove:
- the 2 screws
- the bracket.




Place a little paper under the connection in the steering gear to absorb any oil spillage.
Remove the screw.




Pull the pipes out of the clamp. Remove the pipes. Separate the pipes at the steering gear end.




Fold up the metal tabs. Transfer the brackets to the new pipe.

Installation

Installing the pipe assembly

Note! For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.

Assemble the pipes at the steering gear end.
Install the pipe assembly in the steering gear.

Note! Use new O-rings.

Install:
- the 1 screw. Finger-tighten
- the pipes in the clamp on the steering gear.





Install:
- the bracket
- the 2 M10 screws.





Install:
- the bracket
- the 2 M6 screws.





Install:
- the return hose on the pump
- the delivery line on the pump. Tighten. See: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.




Tighten the 1 M8 screw.

Finishing

Fill the power steering system.

Note! Use Volvo power steering fluid with part no. 1161 529 (1l).

Bleed by turning the steering to full lock, alternately left and right, until the steering feels right.
Install the splash guard under the engine (if applicable).
