Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Preparatory work

Ignition off
Remove the soundproofing panel. See: Instrument panel lower Instrument Panel Lower.

Removal

Removing the stop lamp switch





Note! The brake pedal must be in the rest position when the brake light switch is removed.

Turn the stop lamp switch clockwise until it releases from the bracket.

Remove:
- the connector
- the stop lamp switch.

Installation

Installing the stop lamp switch

Note! It is important that the brake pedal is in the rest position when the brake light switch is installed. The brake light switch self-adjusts on installation.

Install:
- the connector
- the stop lamp switch.
Turn the stop lamp switch counter-clockwise.

Finishing

Install the soundproofing panel. See: Instrument panel lower Instrument Panel Lower.
Erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
