Refrigerant, draining
Note! The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Preparatory work
Preparing the high pressure side (HP) service valve
Warning! Follow the safety instructions for work on air conditioning systems.
The high pressure side's (HP) service valve is concealed under the cover above the air conditioning aggregate.
Remove:
- the screws, 2 pcs, at the cover's right hand section at the hood's height adjustment rubber (A)
- the screw, 1 pcs, that holds the air intake (B) and remove it.
Lift up the plate to access the service valve and connect the high pressure side's (HP) refrigerant hose.
Draining
Connections for draining
Note! The ambient temperature must be greater than 20 °C.
Hint: The fastest way is to connect the recycling unit to the service valves on both the high-pressure (HP) and low-pressure (LP) sides at the same time.
Switch off the engine.
Check/measure the volume of any oil that drains with the refrigerant.
Note! The recycling unit must have an oil separator. The oil separator must be of a type that allows the amount of oil in the refrigerant to be measured.
Finishing
Finishing work on the service valve on the high pressure side (HP)
Disconnect the refrigerant connection from the service valve.
Screw the service valve cap into place.
Position the cover.
Insert the air intake and the screw (B), 1pcs. Tighten.
Screw the right-hand part of the cover plate using screws (A), 2 pcs, by the rubber for vertical adjustment of the hood. Tighten.
