Checking the ground terminal
- Ignition off
- Connect the breakout box
- Switch off all equipment that takes power from the battery (for example, courtesy lighting, radio etc.).
Check the resistance between the battery negative terminal and terminal #16 (#A16) and between the battery negative terminal and terminal #47 (#A47). The resistance must be 0 ohms.
Check the ground terminal 1/1 (battery negative terminal) if the resistance is incorrect. Check for an open-circuit and contact resistance.
Check the cable between ground terminal 31/80 (left-hand wheel arch) and terminals #16 (#A16) and #47 (#A47). Check for an open-circuit. Check for contact resistance.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Ignition on.
The ABS warning lamp lights when the ignition is switched on.
Check that the warning lamp goes out after approximately 2 seconds.
Note! The warning lamp will not go out if a fault has been stored in the brake control module (BCM).
Does the warning lamp go out after 2 seconds?
