Spoiler, trunk lid.
INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.

Note! The work may not be done at temperatures below 15 ° C (59 ° F).
Note! The vehicle may not be used within 2 hours after doing the work.
Note! Do not wash the vehicle within 72 hours after doing the work.
Preparations
- Loosen the rubber strip around the tailgate opening at the top edge and on the right side at the C-pillar panel.
- Carefully bend loose the rear roof panel and remove it. It is fastened with nine clips.
- Unplug the connector for the interior lighting and move the panel aside.
- Carefully bend loose the right C-pillar panel at the top edge and slightly angle it down. It is fastened with three clips.
- Unplug the connector (1) and the clip (2) for the cable, and the washer hose (3) at the C-pillar.
- Remove the two screws and the three clips on the underside/top of the tailgate.
- Loosen the rubber lead through with hose and cables from the body.
- Lower the tailgate.
- Carefully cut loose the existing spoiler from the tailgate with a thin knife.
- Unhook the spoiler from the tailgate's upper edge.
- Place a rag (1) over the roof's rear part to protect the paint when the spoiler is removed and installed.
- Raise the tailgate.
- Pull loose the rubber lead through (2) with the hose and cables from the tailgate.
- Put the spoiler aside.
- Clean the tailgate from any remaining tape where the old spoiler was installed.
Installation
- Get the new spoiler from the kit.
Tape around the slots in the spoiler's front edge to protect the paint from the tailgate's hinges when the spoiler is installed.
- Lubricate the washer hose lightly with low-temperature grease part no. 1161761 by the rubber lead through. Pull the washer hose in and out a few times so that it is easier to pull through and to avoid folds when the spoiler is installed.
Note! Make sure that no grease ends up on surfaces on the spoiler and tailgate where the adhesive is to be applied.
Note! Get help from a colleague to carry out steps 12-24.
- Open the tailgate. Get the new spoiler and insert the rubber lead through with hose and cables through the hole in the tailgate.
- Fasten the rubber lead through on both sides of the tailgate.
- Place a rag over the tailgate's lock in the sill so that it does not close.
- Lower the tailgate.
- Hook on the spoiler's three clip attachments around the metal edge on the top part of the tailgate.
Caution! Make sure that the spoiler's front edge does not come into contact with the tailgate's hinges when the tailgate with spoiler is opened.
- Hold down the spoiler around the upper edge on the tailgate, with the spoiler's feet on the tailgate's glass.
Open the tailgate so that the three clips can be installed.
- Install the middle clip first, then the two others.
- Lower the tailgate.
Caution! Make sure that the spoiler's front edge does not come into contact with the tailgate's hinges.
- Make sure that the spoiler's feet have contact with the tailgate. Tape around the edges on both sides of the spoiler to have in order to position against when the adhesive has been applied, and the spoiler is to be installed.
- Open the tailgate and remove the clips.
Caution! Make sure that the spoiler's front edge does not come into contact with the tailgate's hinges.
- Close the tailgate again, while holding the spoiler in place.
- Unhook the spoiler from the clip attachments and open the tailgate.
- Pull out a bit of cable and washer hose from the spoiler and turn it feet up. Make sure that the protective rag is in place.
- Clean the tailgate inside the tape markings on both sides where the spoiler's feet are to be placed, with isopropanol part no. 1161721. Wipe dry.
- Clean in the recesses on the spoiler's feet with isopropanol part no. 1161721. Wipe dry.
- Cut the supplied nozzle according to sketch.
Note! The work may not be done at a temperature below 15 ° C (59 ° F).
- Get single component adhesive part no. 8750060 and apply a triangle-shaped bead in the recess on the spoiler's feet according to sketch.
- Turn the spoiler facing the right way, and hold it so that the adhesive does not smear.
- Close the tailgate and hook on the spoiler's three clip attachments around the metal edge on the top part of the tailgate.
Note! Hold the spoiler in such a way that the adhesive has as little contact as possible with the tailgate.
Make sure that the washer hose and the cables slide into the spoiler.
- Hold down the spoiler around the upper edge on the tailgate and open it so that the three clips and the two screws can be installed.
Note! Hold the spoiler in such a way that the adhesive has as little contact as possible with the tailgate.
- Position the spoiler's feet according to the pieces of tape so that the middle clip can be installed.
- Lower the spoiler's feet against the tailgate as much as is needed to install the clips.
- Install the middle clip first, then the two others, and then the screws.
- Hold the rubber gaiter and carefully pull on the washer hose until you can feel that it slides in the rubber lead through in the tailgate.
- Blow in the washer hose and check that it is open.
- Fold down the spoiler against the tailgate and pull away the protective tape (1) on the spoiler feet fastening tape.
- Press down the spoiler's feet against the tailgate (2) until the tape sticks.
- Close the tailgate and press down the spoiler firmly against the tailgate.
- Remove the pieces of tape on the tailgate and front edge of the spoiler.
Note! The adhesive is completely hardened after 72 hours.
Finishing work
- Pull in the hose and the cables in the hole in the body, and secure the rubber lead through.
- Plug in the connector (1) and fasten the cable with its clip (2) by the C-pillar.
- Connect the washer hose (3).
- Press down the C-pillar panel. Make sure that all clips have engaged.
- Plug in the connector for the lighting in the roof panel and reinstall it. Make sure that all clips have engaged.
- Reinstall the rubber strip in the tailgate opening.
Note! The vehicle may not be used within 2 hours after doing the work.
Note! Do not wash the vehicle within 72 hours after doing the work.
