Door cassette
Note! As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
The door cassette comprises a zinc-treated, pressed thin-sheet on which all the components belonging to the door are installed.
- the lock
- the power window mechanism
- the loudspeaker
- the driver door module (DDM) / passenger door module (PDM) and motor
- side impact sensor, C30 only
- the weatherstrip, to separate the wet side of the door from the dry side.
Holes have been made in the plate for:
- routing the cable harness
- accessing the window lift mechanism.
Edge trim and covers are located in these holes.
The cable harness for the door is installed in the door cassette. The cable harness is routed from the door through a boot into the door post.
The shape of the cassette for the front door (1) differs from that for the rear door (2).
Multi-function bracket
A multi-function bracket is installed on the door cassette. The bracket is a plastic component:
- on which the lock is mounted (with a snap fastener and rivet, C30 only has a snap fastener)
- on which the inner bracket for the exterior handle is installed (with two snap fasteners)
- routes water away from the lock
- which contains a glass channel for the window.
The bracket that is installed on the front door cassette is longer than the one on the rear door cassette. The longer bracket is secured to the door with an extra screw at the bottom. The glass channel for the window goes down into the extended section.
Edge trim
The edge trim is made of plastic. One side is made of hard plastic, the other of soft plastic. A cover that covers the hole is mounted on the edge trim.
